Right, here we go, the nominees have been scribbled on the back of an envelope, crossed out and swapped about and replaced but now the Northern By Nature Heroes of 2010 list can be revealed.
I thought I'd change it from a chart of best tracks and heroes list like last year because basically it was far too much trouble to pick one best track from some artists
Where did Janelle Monáe come from? It was (for me) the word of mouth discovery of the year. There was nothing and then artist Ali Auger tweeted something like this is the album of the year back in July and he wasn't too far off the mark. The two tracks below were especially big Summer favourites and listening to the album again now brings back (very long) distant memories of those few warm sunny days we had this year.
